Canopi is a new, flexible workspace offering evolved from CAN Mezzanine and the Helen Taylor Thompson Foundation. The brand is a great fit for J2, combining expertise in the property sector with our own ESG priorities – and offering a chance to support a wide range of different charities.
Building the brand
To develop the brand identity, we worked closely with Canopi’s senior management team to better understand the social sector and how to help organisations within it. Leveraging three central pillars of workspace, community, and impact, the brand we developed reflects the shelter and nourishment that Canopi delivers, just as the canopies of a rainforest support the growth and diversity of critical ecosystems. With the brand in place, we set about developing a digital platform that would enable Canopi to communicate and engage with its core audiences – embracing the bespoke brand elements we created, and ensuring they work together in a way that’s engaging and easy to use.
The future of flexible working
In late 2021, Canopi sold its Old Street offices, with the proceeds enabling it to create a custom-built, sustainable working environment for the future at its Southwark site. Scheduled for launch in 2024, the new workspace that we’re helping Canopi launch will include co-working facilities, meeting rooms, event and exhibition space, bars, a restaurant, and much more, to become the UK’s leading hub for charities and social sector organisations.
